She spent 16 years in a high school English classroom, selling teenagers a heavy dose of Shakespeare and advanced composition techniques. She left the classroom to run her own business for the next decade, learning marketing and social media skills as the platforms were developing.
She spent four years as the Director of Marketing for a nonprofit organization - promoting the organization through traditional marketing tactics, networking, and digital media. Under her direction, the organization more than doubled its annual revenue, which helped them provide clean drinking water to thousands of people in Sub-Saharan Africa.
