Al Duncan has an extensive work experience spanning various industries and roles. From 2023 to present, they have been serving as the Chief Growth Officer at Webtools. Prior to that, from 2020 to 2023, they worked at Webtools as the Client & Partnership Director.

Before joining Webtools, Al worked at The Media Suite Limited as a Product Manager from 2018 to 2020.

From 2016 to 2018, Al held the position of Managing Consultant at Orion Health. During this time, they managed a significant program to deliver Orion Health's Enterprise patient administration system to public hospitals across the South Island of New Zealand. Al successfully implemented New Zealand's first regional PAS and managed the replacement of eight existing patient administration systems.

Al also worked as a Project Manager at Orion Health from 2015 to 2016, where they delivered the first New Zealand production release of the Enterprise patient administration system. Their responsibilities included project planning, issue and risk management.

Prior to Orion Health, Al worked as a Consultant at NSW Health from 2014 to 2015.

At HSAGlobal, Al held multiple roles from 2012 to 2015. Al served as a Client Account Manager - South Island from May 2015 to August 2015. Before that, they worked as an Implementation Consultant from 2012 to 2015.

From 2008 to 2012, Al served as a Public Health Analyst at Canterbury District Health Board.

Al started their career in 2007 as a Project Manager at the University of Otago, where they managed a $1.6 million influenza screening project. Al coordinated a team of research assistants and nurses and established relationships with various organizations. Al also contributed to academic publications and presentations during their time at the university.

Al Duncan attended Burnside High School from 1992 to 1996, where they did not pursue a specific degree or field of study. From 1997 to 1999, they studied at the University of Canterbury, earning a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Biochemistry. Later, from 2006 to 2007, they attended the University of Otago, obtaining a Master of Public Health (MPH) degree with a specialization in Epidemiology.
