Michael Blaire has over 40 years of work experience in the pharmaceutical industry. Michael started their career as a technician at Pueblo Drugs in 1978, before becoming a pharmacist at Walgreens in 1994. In 1981, they founded MRB Pharmacies, Inc. where they served as the CEO until 1993. Michael then joined AETA as a pharmacist and vendor from 2003 to 2007. From 2007 to 2009, they were a member of the Leadership Council at NFIB. In 2009, they ran as a candidate for LD8 in the AZ State Legislature. From 2012 to 2013, they held various leadership roles including Vice President, Treasurer, and PAC Chair at the board member IACP. From 2001 to 2017, they served as the CEO of Diamondback Drugs. In 2015, they became a member of the Arizona State Board of Pharmacy and served as its President from 2018 to 2019. Currently, they are Vice President of Government and Regulatory Affairs at Wedgewood Pharmacy. Additionally, they have been involved with the IACP since 2012 in various capacities.
Michael Blaire attended Hewlett High School, although the specific years are not provided. Following high school, they attended the University of Rochester from 1976 to 1980, where they earned a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology and a Bachelor of Arts in English. Michael then went on to attend St. John's University from 1980 to 1983, where they earned a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy (BSPh). Finally, they attended Arizona State University from 1994 to 1998, where they obtained a Master of Arts in English.
