Michael Miner

Director of Marketing & Community Partnerships at WEDU PBS

Michael Miner has extensive work experience in the marketing and business development fields. Michael began their career in 1977 as the Owner/President of J.M. Talco Associates, a 40 person, 3 office executive recruiting firm specializing in the placement of attorneys, accountants and IT professionals. In 1996, Michael moved on to become a Senior Advertising Sales Executive at SNN6 Television, where they were responsible for selling advertising for a local 24-hour news and information television station. Michael developed all business leads through cold calling, networking, public speaking and client referrals, as well as training new staff members, setting up their marketing plans, and supporting them in the reaching of their goals. In 1998, Michael became the Director of Business Development at Decision Management International, where they searched for business opportunities by prospecting and "cold calling" to CEO's, Presidents and other high level senior executives in the pharmaceutical, biotech and medical device industries. In 2000, Michael became the CEO & President of United Marketing Solutions, Sarasota, where they developed a diverse customer base for this direct mail advertising and marketing company, and created, designed and implemented direct response mail campaigns for small to large businesses. Finally, in 2003, Michael became the Director of Marketing & Community Partnerships at WEDU, where they were responsible for networking and developing regional business contacts and relationships in order to secure funding for the TV station, creating an on-air awareness campaign for each of their clients, and overseeing the production of their TV messages. Michael also raised monies for various WEDU/PBS community outreach projects such as town hall meetings and PBS documentary films through networking and public speaking.

Michael Miner attended Bryant University from 1966 to 1967, studying Business.
