John Palomo

John Palomo has a diverse work experience. John started their career as a Manager at Sushi on the Rock from March 2007 to May 2008, where they managed staff duties, analyzed financial spreadsheets, and conducted staff evaluations.

In 2009, they worked as an IT/eBusiness Development (Java) Intern at HD Supply, where they researched design solutions for an email authentication system and developed an email authentication process for web-customers.

After that, they joined HD Supply as a Senior Developer from February 2010 to September 2013. In this role, they designed and developed a standalone Spring Web Service application and led a team for the HTML5 site recode/cleanup project.

From 2014 to 2016, John worked at ViaSat Inc. as a Software Engineering Team Lead, where they developed a Network Control System for the Commonwealth of Australia Department of Defense. John also worked as a Software Engineering Intern at ViaSat Inc. during this time, developing an embedded modem configuration and status monitoring application.

In 2016, they joined DealerSocket as a Senior Software Engineer and was later promoted to the role of Data Engineer at Weedmaps in October 2018. At DealerSocket, they provisioned and maintained an Apache Kafka/Zookeeper cluster and developed a Microsoft SQL Server Change Data Capture (CDC) connector for Kafka Connect.

John Palomo's education history includes a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Computer Science from the University of California, Irvine, which they obtained from 2013 to 2015. Prior to that, they completed their Bachelor's Degree in Information and Decision Systems from San Diego State University between 2006 and 2009.

In addition to their formal education, John Palomo has also obtained several certifications. John completed the "Hands-on with Amazon Redshift Certificate of Completion" from Udemy in January 2018. In December 2017, they obtained the "SAFe 4 Certified Scrum Master" certification from Scaled Agile, Inc. Furthermore, in October 2015, they obtained a certification in TCP/IP Networking from Global Knowledge Training.
