Matthias Eckermann

Matthias Eckermann has a diverse work experience spanning different companies and roles. Matthias currently holds two positions at wefox, starting with the role of Chief Risk Officer (CRO) ad interim in July 2022, followed by the position of Director Finance Insurance/ Managing Director wefox Insurance in February 2022. Prior to wefox, they worked at Zurich Insurance Company Ltd, where they held the role of Chief Financial Officer from March 2020 to January 2022. Before that, they were a Senior Project Manager M&A at Zurich Insurance Company Ltd from October 2014 to March 2020. Earlier in their career, Matthias worked as a Director at Perella Weinberg Partners from April 2011 to October 2014. Prior to that, they were an Associate at Morgan Stanley from October 2007 to April 2011, and an Analyst at Deutsche Bank from October 2005 to September 2007. Matthias also briefly worked as an Analyst at Fox-Pitt, Kelton in 2005.

Matthias Eckermann obtained a Master's Degree in Industrial Engineering from Technische Universität Dresden, where they studied from 1997 to 2002. Following this, they pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Finance and Financial Management Services at the same university, completing their studies from 2002 to 2005.
