Davide Colombo

Davide Colombo has a diverse work experience spanning multiple roles and industries. Davide started their career in 2004 as a Researcher on robotics at CNR, where they implemented control strategies for industrial robots and managed international workshops. Davide also had a half-time commitment with Comau Robotics, focusing on control strategies related to human-machine interactions.

In 2006, Colombo joined Whirlpool as a Senior Control & System Engineer. Here, they led a team and was responsible for coordinating with marketing and technology groups. Davide also played a key role in designing prototypes of electronic systems, sensors, and software specifications. Additionally, Colombo conducted analysis and validation using 6th sigma methodologies.

In 2012, Colombo moved to Gefran, where they held various roles. Davide initially served as a Senior Motor Drive & System Engineer, where they led projects, managed product technical aspects for the injection plastic market, and coordinated the H-2020-European Project - I-MECH internally. Davide was responsible for implementing control strategies in embedded systems firmware and IEC61131-3 applications, focusing on advanced control for AC motors and various applications such as servo pump/injection molding machines and photovoltaics.

Later on, Colombo progressed to become a Lead Controls Engineer and R&D Project Manager at Gefran. In this role, they took on additional responsibilities such as coordinating the R&D Control and Application team, leading R&D Projects for general-purpose drives and the injection plastic market, and overseeing the implementation of motor control strategies in embedded systems firmware and IEC61131-3.

Most recently, in 2022, Colombo joined WEG as a Lead Controls Engineer & R&D Project Manager. Further details about their responsibilities in this role are not provided.

Davide Colombo obtained a Master's degree in Engineering from Politecnico di Milano, studying from 1999 to 2004. Davide also acquired a Laurea Magistrale LM in Ingegneria Elettrica from the same institution during the same period.
