Danny Ben-Avraham

Danny Ben-Avraham is a seasoned professional in bioinformatics and data science, currently serving as the Head of Node for ELIXIR Israel since November 2017 and leading the Bioinformatics Unit at the Weizmann Institute of Science since August 2015. With a rich background in research and development, Danny held the position of Research Fellow at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine from November 2012 to July 2015, focusing on population genetics and statistical methods for genetic epidemiology. Danny's earlier experience includes leadership roles at Proteologics and Quark Biotech Inc., where expertise in bioinformatics and cheminformatics was honed, along with programming skills developed during work as an Application Engineer at Comverse. Danny's academic credentials include a PhD in Population Genetics and Breeding from The Hebrew University of Jerusalem and advanced degrees in Bioinformatics and Biology from Tel Aviv University.
