Derek Desol

Derek DeSol is an accomplished communications professional with extensive experience in public relations, fundraising, and event marketing. Currently serving as Director of Communications for the American Committee for the Weizmann Institute of Science, Derek has held various roles including Communications Manager and Executive Communications Writer. As a freelance writer and consultant since 2016, Derek offers services in speechwriting, copywriting, and campaign consultation, and is recognized for acting in award-winning campaigns. Previously, Derek worked for Rochester Regional Health for over 13 years, contributing to public relations, media relations, and donor relations efforts. Derek also held key positions at the Arthritis Foundation and Clear Channel Radio, demonstrating a strong track record of successful event execution and community engagement. Derek earned a BA in Communications/Journalism from St. John Fisher University.
