Krista Saponara has a diverse work experience in various roles within the media industry. In 1994, they joined ESPN as a Producer, where they produced and directed ESPN Classic SportsCentury Documentaries, studio talk show UpClose, and various content for NFL Countdown, SportsCenter, and other ESPN programs. Krista continued working at ESPN until 2003.
From 2003 to 2004, Saponara worked as a Coordinating Producer at The Tennis Channel. In 2006, they had brief stints as an Executive Producer at PGA Tour Network and later joined TeamWorks Media, where they served as an Executive Producer from November 2006 to June 2009. At TeamWorks Media, they were responsible for creative direction, intellectual property, branded content, and original programming development. Saponara also conceptualized, produced, and directed nine TELLY Award winning commercial campaigns for Converse and the Big Ten Conference. Additionally, they spearheaded the development and production of the PBS and ESPN feature length documentary "The Street Stops Here."
In 2001, Saponara began working as a Documentary Filmmaker, where they took on various roles such as Producer, Executive Producer, and Director. Some notable projects include producing the ESPN 30 for 30 short "From Harlem With Love," producing the feature-length documentary "Stink" on the fragrance industry, and serving as the Executive Producer/Producer of "The Street Stops Here," a documentary about coach Bob Hurley, Sr., and their commitment to saving the lives of inner-city kids. Krista also produced the feature-length documentary "Opposite Field," which followed the rise of baseball in Uganda.
Most recently, Saponara joined WelbeHealth as a Creative Director in 2021.
