Lisa Akey

Lisa Akey is a seasoned marketing professional with extensive experience across various industries, including gourmet food, political campaigns, and plant-based products. Currently serving as Founder and Principal at Sungold Strategy since August 2022, Lisa has delivered innovative marketing and messaging strategies for multiple clients, including political candidates and a mission-driven food business. Previous roles include Brand Lead at Welch's, where Lisa spearheaded market activation and strategic planning for juice products, and senior positions at Motif FoodWorks and Upfield, focusing on product innovation and brand management. A notable past achievement includes the development of Upfield’s Plant Grants initiative, which supported Black-owned restaurants. Lisa holds an MBA in Marketing, Finance, and Management & Organizations from Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management, along with a BS in Communication Studies and Business Institutions from Northwestern University.
