WELCIA HOLDINGS CO., LTD., formerly GROWELL HOLDINGS CO., LTD., is a Japan-based holding company engaged in the operation of drug stores. The Company operates drug stores that sell pharmaceuticals, sanitary and nursing care goods, baby goods, miscellaneous household goods, cosmetics, health food and food products, among others. The Company is also engaged in the contract works of design, construction and interior construction for stores, the leasing and sale of real estate properties, as well as the mail order business, through its subsidiaries. As of August 31, 2012, the Company had six consolidated subsidiaries, three non-consolidated subsidiaries and three associated companies. As of August 31, 2012, the Company had 764 stores in total. On March 24, the Company acquired Welcia Kyoto. On September 1, 2014, it fully acquired a 95% owned subsidiary WELCIA KANTO CO., LTD., and WELCIA KANTO merged with three other wholly owned subsidiaries.
