Jason Chessher has extensive experience in public health and environmental leadership roles. Jason currently serves as the Executive Director of Public Health & Environment for Weld County Government since February 2023. Prior to this, they worked for the City of Garland for over 16 years, starting as the Deputy Director of Health in April 2006 and later becoming the Director of Health in October 2012. In these positions, they oversaw environmental and public health departments, animal services, and landfill compliance. In November 2020, they were promoted to the role of Managing Director, where they managed various departments and had a significant budget and revenue responsibility.
Jason Chessher completed their Bachelor's degree in Major Biology with a Minor in Mathematics from Texas A&M University-Commerce. Jason attended this institution from 1992 to 1997. Later, they pursued a Master's degree in Environmental Science from the University of North Texas, between 1997 and 1999. Apart from their formal education, Jason obtained a certification as a Registered Environmental Health Specialist/Registered Sanitarian (REHSRS) from the National Environmental Health Organization in July 2022.
