Bryan David

Program Director, Southern Virginia/go Virginia Region 3 at Weldon Cooper Center for Public Service at the University of Virginia

Bryan David has extensive work experience in various roles within the public service sector. Bryan started their career as an Environmental Planner and later became a County Planner at Isle of Wight County, Virginia from 1990 to 1994. Bryan then served as the Director of Planning and Zoning at Isle of Wight County from 1995 to 1997. Bryan went on to work as the County Administrator at Brunswick County, Virginia from 1997 to 2000 and at Amherst County, Virginia from 2000 to 2005. Bryan then served as the County Administrator at King George County, Virginia from 2005 to 2008. Bryan worked as the Executive Director at Virginia's Region 2000 Partnership-Economic Development Council from 2008 to 2013. Bryan then held the position of County Administrator at Orange County, Virginia from 2014 to 2020, where they also served as the Interim County Administrator for a short period in 2014. Currently, Bryan is the Program Director at the Weldon Cooper Center for Public Service at the University of Virginia, where they lead operations in the Southern Region of Virginia and provides support to the GO Virginia Region 3 Council.

Bryan David has a diverse education history. In 1978, they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Political Science from Hampden-Sydney College. In 1982, they received a Certification in Litigation and Real Estate from the National Center for Paralegal Training. Following that, from 1988 to 1990, Bryan pursued a Master of Urban and Regional Planning degree at Virginia Commonwealth University with a focus on Land Use, Economic Development, and Environmental Planning. In 1999, they attended the Senior Executive Institute at the Weldon Cooper Center-University of Virginia, where they learned about Leadership for Local Government Managers. Finally, in 2010, Bryan participated in the LEAD Virginia - Class of 2010, a Comprehensive Statewide Leadership Program.
