Richard Rooney

Richard Rooney is an experienced Senior Electronics Design Engineer and IoT Architect currently working at WellAir since February 2018, where responsibilities include the design of connected air purifiers. Previously, Richard held the position of Platform Architect in the Internet of Things Group at Intel Corporation, contributing to platforms utilizing Intel Quark technology and playing a key role in the Intel LIQD program. Richard has substantial experience in hardware and software design, having worked at Ircona designing storage and server systems, and at Dyoptyka, where innovative solutions for laser interference were developed. Earlier roles include senior electronics design positions at Lucent Technologies Bell Labs, H/W Design Engineer positions at AEP Networks and Vedia Technology, and a foundational role at Mentec Computer Systems. Richard holds a Master of Engineering in Electronic Systems from Dublin City University and a degree in Electronics and Telecommunications from Technological University Dublin.
