Iyad Houshan

Dr. Iyad Houshan is the Chief Medical Officer at WellBe Senior Medical. Prior to joining WellBe, they served as the Senior Medical Officer at Alignment Healthcare from January 2017 to June 2019. In this role, they were responsible for managing the clinical program at an innovative Medicare Advantage provider that offers an integrated clinical model, proactive healthcare, advanced technologies, strong talent, and alliances with major health care partners. Iyad also structured the home-based care program designed for optimal revenue and clinical / hospice outcomes.

Before their time at Alignment Healthcare, Dr. Houshan worked as a population management & program infrastructure specialist focused on continual quality and care delivery for desired results. Iyad has also been recognized for their strong patient & family satisfaction skills, which they have used to set the stage for improvements in hospice metrics and drop in unnecessary resource utilization. Dr. Houshan has a passion for end-of-life / high-risk patient populations, and they have used their expertise to mentor teams and address risk factors, cost and resource management, and IT advances. Thanks to their focus on hospice metrics improvements in talent management / hiring, with a new onboarding process that includes training, chart reviews, & shadowing, Dr. Houshan has been able to successfully grow the programs they oversee.

Iyad Houshan began their educational career by obtaining a B.S. in Chemistry from UC San Diego. Iyad then went on to obtain an M.D. from Ross University School of Medicine. After completing their medical degree, they pursued a career in general education and obtained a position at San Diego Miramar College. Iyad later went on to complete an Internal Medicine Residency at the University of Nevada, Reno.

Their manager is Jeffrey Kang, CEO. They are on a team with Denise Hatzidakis - Chief Information Officer, Jacob Juhn - VP, Data & Analytics, and Sara McBride - VP, Clinical Development & Operations.
