Tom Collins

Tom Collins is a seasoned research leader currently serving as the Research Lead for Atomic & Molecular Science at Wellcome Trust, where responsibilities include building a cutting-edge life sciences research portfolio. Previous roles at Wellcome include Interim Head of Genetics & Molecular Sciences, overseeing a team of Portfolio Managers, and Senior Portfolio Developer, providing strategic leadership in genetics and molecular sciences. As a Portfolio Manager, Tom adapted initiatives in response to the emergence of SARS-CoV2. Earlier experience as a Postdoctoral Research Associate at Imperial College London focused on heart failure and gene therapy. Tom holds a PhD in Cardiovascular Science and a degree in Physiological Sciences from the University of Oxford.
