David Horton

David Horton has a diverse work experience, starting as a Senior Development Team Lead at Clark County from 2007 to 2015. During this time, they played a key role in rewriting a large legacy mainframe system, saving millions of dollars annually and earning an industry award. David also led the development of the Online Business Licensing system, introducing online application capabilities for business licenses in Clark County.

From 2015 to 2017, David worked as a Lead Systems Administrator - DevOps at City National Bank, where they upgraded server environments, automated web application deployment, and replaced integration to a legacy bill payment system with a new vendor API, resulting in potential cost savings for the bank.

Next, they joined Trojan Professional Services, Inc. as a Software Architect from 2018 to 2019. In this role, they designed and implemented an integrated enterprise healthcare system, enabling seamless integration with other healthcare practice management systems. David also established an in-house development department, utilizing Agile and DevOps methodologies for faster software delivery.

David then joined Pacific Dental Services in 2019 as the Lead Senior Software Engineer. David streamlined patient check-in and benefits coordination processes by developing dental plan integration with practice management and back-end office systems. David also led the effort to upgrade practice management systems to Epic, a large electronic health record (EHR) system, ensuring seamless linkages between medical and dental patient records. Additionally, they successfully managed and established DevOps processes and tools for a FinTech startup software company called Wellfit Technologies.

Currently, David is working at Wellfit as the Lead DevOps Engineer.

David Horton obtained their Bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems, General from Clearwater Christian College, where they attended from 2004 to 2006. Additionally, they have obtained several certifications including ITIL Foundations from EXIN your ICT competence partner, Microsoft Certified: DevOps Engineer Expert from Microsoft (obtained in December 2022), and Microsoft Certified: Azure Developer Associate from Microsoft (obtained in November 2021).
