Friso Van Reesema

Friso advises Wellflix on Sales, Marketing, and Business Development. Over the past 15 years, he worked for Avalere Health, a DC-based health advisory firm, a Dutch-based health-risk assessment institute, and a Dutch pharmaceutical company in the United States. Most recently, Friso was the Director of Payer Sales for Emmi Solutions, a patient engagement, and health education company, serving health plans and hospital systems with their population health and post-discharge strategies. His focus throughout has been on the doctor-patient relationship and health literacy, particularly through the use of innovative health communication approaches and technologies, because he repeatedly observed positive outcomes at a population health level when education develops self-management skills and behavior change.

On a pro bono basis, Friso co-Chairs the Patient Family Partnership for Stamford Hospital in Connecticut, a Planetree organization emphasizing patient-focused care, and also sits on the Patient Satisfaction Committee to support HCAHPS scores. He holds a European Business degree, a Masters in Cultural Anthropology from Leiden University, and a Master in Public Health from Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health.
