An entrepreneur, Robin started and sold several successful businesses prior to a merger that brought him to IBM to lead the business development for IBM’s Media Solutions team. In three years, the team transitioned from a cost center to a profit center, doubled in size and achieved double-digit profit growth each year, and set standards for how media is streamed and consumed globally.
Among Robin’s varied media technology background, he created and deployed the world’s first wireless, underwater webcam network for marine biology research and education, served as UNESCO’s media lead for its 30th Anniversary Belize Barrier Reef Expedition, and teamed with National Geographic to create a virtual underwater tour of the reef with immersive 360 degree underwater photos, audio, and video to raise Belizean children’s awareness and environmental stewardship. Robin has consulted in think tanks for Disney’s Imagineers to revitalize EPCOT Center and build a community that celebrates Walt Disney’s spirit of innovation and exploration.
Robin’s Internet innovations have helped a number of Fortune 500 companies thrive. At Pfizer, Robin advised their investment in Sales training infrastructure the year they were ranked #1 by Training Magazine. In partnership with Merck and the Positive Women’s Network, Robin lead the design and development of a virtual drop-in center for women infected with HIV. Robin is a highly rated presenter at eLearning Guild, Learning Innovation, and World Innovation Exchange conferences. He has a BComm from the University of Victoria School of Business.
