Jo Heaton

Jo Heaton serves as the Tourism & Visitor Economy Manager at WellingtonNZ since August 2018, overseeing the Wellington I-SITE Visitor Centre and Business Events while promoting Wellington as New Zealand's Best Destination per Lonely Planet. Additionally, Jo has been with Wellington Regional Economic Development Agency since January 2007 as the Trade Marketing Manager, focusing on marketing the city to international travel sellers alongside product development and major events. Formerly, Jo held the position of Trade Events & Resource Manager at Tourism New Zealand from November 1998 to December 2006, where responsibilities included developing training programmes for travel sellers and managing trade events. Prior experience includes a role as Compliance Executive at Royal & Sun Alliance Insurance Life & Pensions and a decade as a Copywriter at Radio New Zealand, where Jo received several industry awards.
