Samuel Basala

Samuel Basala is a Data Wrangler at Wellmark Blue Cross and Blue Shield, responsible for developing a SAS data pipeline and Power BI dashboards that enhance customer communications and assess health plan changes. Prior experience includes an internship in Health Care Innovation at the same company, where dashboards were created to analyze provider data system errors and track employee performance. Samuel's academic background includes a Data Analytics Senior Capstone Project focused on predicting energy grid reliability, participation in the Manley Data Science and Economics Undergraduate Research Group, and involvement in the Drake BlueX Wellmark Blue Cross and Blue Shield Mentor Program. Currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Data Analytics, Computer Science, and Mathematics at Drake University, Samuel has also worked as a Jr. Programmer at Herrschners, Inc., where database procedures were implemented to track KPIs.
