Deputy Chief Investment Officer, Wells Fargo Asset Management at Wells Fargo

Jon Baranko is the deputy chief investment officer (CIO) at Wells Fargo Asset Management (WFAM). He oversees all equity, fixed income, and quantitative-related business activity for the firm. This oversight includes the management of our investment professionals, risk management, and investment business-related issues.

Prior to his current role, Jon served as CEO and earlier was managing director and national sales manager for institutional separate accounts. He joined WFAM from Strong Capital Management, where he was managing director of Strong's institutional business group and director of Strong's equity trading team. He began his investment industry career as a trader for the firm's growth equity products.

Jon earned a bachelor's degree in economics from Colorado College and a master's degree in business administration with an emphasis in finance from Marquette University.
