James Pryor has a diverse work experience in the healthcare industry. James started their career at Waynesboro Hospital, where they worked as a Registered Nurse in the Medical/Surgical department from 2007 to 2010. James then moved on to become the Acute Care Clinical Coordinator at the same hospital from 2010 to 2012.
In 2012, James joined Summit Health, where they held various roles. James started as a Clinical Process Improvement and Information System Specialist, collaborating with clinical leadership and staff to identify workflow improvement opportunities. James also built and customized clinical documentation and EHR workflows to align with patient care and organizational needs. This role lasted from March 2012 to January 2013. James then became the Manager of Projects and Process Improvement for a year before transitioning to the role of Assistant Director of the Lean Promotion Office. In this role, James played a crucial role in creating and launching a new Process Improvement/Lean department for the healthcare system. James initiated and coordinated a PI education program across the organization and provided coaching to front-line management in leadership and PI initiatives. James worked in this position from December 2013 to August 2017.
From 2017 to 2018, James worked as the Vice President of Patient Services at Summit Health, where they were responsible for overseeing patient services and ensuring their quality and efficiency.
Since 2018, James has been working at WellSpan Health, where they first served as the Vice President of Patient Services. James recently transitioned to the role of Vice President of Patient Services and Chief Nursing Officer, starting in January 2023.
James Pryor has an Associate's degree in Registered Nursing/Registered Nurse from Penn State University. James also has a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Registered Nursing/Registered Nurse from the University of Phoenix. In 2015 to 2017, they earned a Master's degree in Healthcare Management & Sustainability from Wilson College. Additionally, they obtained certifications such as Lean Six Sigma Black Belt from Wilson College and Advanced Lean Certification from the Virginia Mason Institute.
