Patrick W. O'Donnell

President, Summit Health at Wellspan Health

Mr. O’Donnell was appointed executive vice president of WellSpan Health in November 2018 when Summit Health joined WellSpan. He is responsible for the daily activities of Summit Health and its subsidiaries.

Mr. O’Donnell began his career at Summit Health in 1985 and has served as Summit Health’s president and chief executive officer since July 2013. He held the following positions with Summit Health prior to 2013: Senior Vice President/Chief Operating Officer/Chief Financial Officer, Chief Financial Officer, Vice President for Finance, and Controller.

Mr. O’Donnell holds a bachelor’s degree from Shippensburg University and a master’s degree in business administration from Frostburg State University. He is active in several civic and professional organizations, serving as a representative on the American Hospital Association Regional Policy Board for Region Two (N.Y., N.J., Pa.) and on the Governance Committee for The Hospital and Healthsystem Association of Pennsylvania. Mr. O’Donnell is a director emeritus of Keystone Health, a member of the Penn State/Mont Alto Business/IST Advisory Council, and honorary chairperson for the Women In Need Capital Campaign. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Hospital Association of Pennsylvania, Greater Chambersburg Chamber of Commerce, and Member and Fellow of Healthcare Financial Management Association.
