Stephen Holoviak

Dr. Holoviak is a retired professor of Management/Leadership at Penn State University, Mont Alto where he taught senior level business courses. Prior to this he was a long tenure Dean of the John L. Grove College of Business at Shippensburg University.

Stephen is the author-and /or co-author of 6 academic books plus he is the author of 6 instructors’ manuals and workbooks, and authored over 120 articles in various journals and trade magazines; has three public TV scripts to his credit; and is the former Contributing Editor of the “Audio Human Resource Report” Magazine. His training manual and a hospital labor negotiations simulation were both a standard in the field for many years. In the health care field, he has published a recent book on health care management, plus he has written numerous articles on quality systems in health care institutions and published a major study of nursing in unionized settings. Stephen also is a former long-term board president of a hospital.

He began his career with Merrill Lynch and was later Director of Marketing for First National Bank of Maryland. Stephen has been an active consultant for 30+ years working in the areas of quality systems, labor relations& human resource management, organization design, strategic planning and project management.

In retirement, he has authored six spy adventure novels, all fictionalized drama based on facts. All of these are written under the pen name JTS Brown. He has a web page, jtsbrownbooks.com which discuss each work and offer pictures of some of the places where the action occurs in the various countries. He recently published another book under his name titled, “An Intellectuals Guide to Dieting: A Journey to be One of the Beautiful People.”

He has four children, four grandchildren, loves to bike, golf and enjoys travel.
