Frank McCormick

Frank McCormick started their work experience in 1991 as VP of Research at Chiron Corporation. In 1992, they founded Onyx Pharmaceuticals and served as both the Founder and CSO until 1997. From 1998 to the present, McCormick has been a Professor at UCSF. In 2012, they became President of the American Association for Cancer Research. McCormick also co-founded Avidity NanoMedicines, Wellspring Biosciences, and BridgeBio in 2012, 2013, and 2015, respectively. Additionally, they served as a Director at OLEMA PHARMACEUTICALS INC and worked as a Consultant at Leidos in 2013.

Frank McCormick completed their B.Sc. in Biochemistry from the University of Birmingham from 1969 to 1972. Following this, they pursued a Ph.D. in Biochemistry from the University of Cambridge from 1972 to 1975.
