Carrie Dodson has extensive work experience in the healthcare field. Carrie began their career in 1993 as a Nursing Staff at Jewish Hospital Healthcare Services, where they worked until 1999. From 1999 to 2006, they served as the Manager of Perianesthesia at Jewish Hospital & St. Mary's HealthCare. After that, they joined KentuckyOne Health as the Director of Ambulatory Emergency Services, holding the position from 2006 to 2015. Carrie then worked as the Director of Emergency Nursing at Clark Memorial Hospital from 2016 to 2019. Currently, they hold two positions at Wellstone Regional Hospital, starting in 2019. Carrie is the Director of Nursing and Chief Nursing Officer at the hospital.

Carrie Dodson, MSN, NE-BC, obtained their Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree with a focus on Nursing Administration from Aspen University, where they studied from 2015 to 2018. Prior to that, they completed their Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree at Spalding University from 1983 to 1987. Carrie received their high school diploma from Louisville Male High School in the years 1979 to 1983. Carrie also holds multiple certifications including CAPA obtained in November 2002 from ANCC, NE-BC obtained in 2000 from ANCC, and CEN obtained in December 1994 from ANCC. Additionally, they have certifications in ACLS, BLS, and PALS from the American Heart Association | American Stroke Association.
