Mustafa Shinwa

Assistant Controller, Accounting at Welsbach Electric Corp.

Mustafa provides essential assistance to Welsbach’s internal accounting and budgeting and oversees the day-to-day operation of the Accounting Department. He is responsible for maintaining the accuracy of data for accounts payable and accounts receivable, while also helping ensure policies and procedures comply with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). Whether on a weekly, monthly, or annual basis, Mustafa diligently prepares schedules and reports in order to provide the company with accurate, up-to-date financial statements.

Well versed in both financial and managerial accounting, Mustafa brings years of experience from the beverage and electrical industry, as well as the public sector. He has expertise working with a full-suite of accounting software programs and has developed skills in a variety of accounting positions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll.

Mustafa attended Queens College where he earned a master’s degree in accounting, in addition to a Bachelor of Business Administration in economics and accounting. He is currently in the process of becoming a Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
