Tim joined the firm in 2004 after 20 years of service at one of the largest professional services firms in the world, where he achieved partner at the young age of 32. As Weltman’s Chief Financial Officer (CFO), Tim has ultimate responsibility for all financial aspects of the firm, including corporate accounting, the collection, disbursement, and control of cash, and the commitment of funds to capital, staffing, and key procurement. He also manages the firm’s 401K profit sharing plan and trust. Serving as leader of the finance committee, the executive body that oversees all of the firm’s financial activities, and an ex-officio member of the firm’s management committee, he provides analytical insights to the story “behind the numbers.”
Achieving financial success year-over-year requires Tim to stay connected to each area of the business and recognize the underlying needs of the organization. In his world, everyone is a client. Working directly with the firm’s clients, prospects, vendors – and each and every employee – he strives to manage the firm’s financial resources with the utmost integrity, efficiency, and accuracy. His top priority is to maintain ethical responsibility at all times, and hold himself accountable when critical business decisions need to be made.
In his role, Tim is a multi-tasker and a problem solver. From developing new business and growth strategies, to chasing down unclaimed funds at the courts, if Tim can serve as a resource, he makes every effort to do his part. In fact, during the firm’s multi-year lawsuit with the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) – in which the firm ultimately prevailed – Tim played an essential role in minimizing the financial impact to the firm, through his creative problem solving and continued commitment to the firm’s core Values.
Tim resides in Bath, Ohio with his wife. Together they have two children and two wonderful granddaughters. They enjoy traveling as a family, and have even made their way to all 50 states, plus several countries. At home, Tim enjoys watching all types of sports, reading historically based books, and enjoying time with friends. He loves to golf, but admits he needs to brush up on his game!
