Dr. Jan Philipp Burgard

Dr. Jan Philipp Burgard is a seasoned journalist with extensive experience in various prominent media roles. Currently serving as Chefredakteur TV and member of the editorial team at Welt since April 2021, Burgard previously held the position of USA-Korrespondent at ARD Studio Washington from January 2017 to April 2021. Prior roles include reporter for Tagesschau and Tagesthemen at Westdeutscher Rundfunk (WDR) from December 2015 to December 2016, and personal advisor to the general director at WDR from July 2013 to December 2015. Additionally, Burgard was a reporter for ZDF's Morgenmagazin and worked as a freelance reporter for Norddeutscher Rundfunk (NDR) from August 2011 to June 2013. Early in their career, Burgard contributed as a freelance author for various publications, including Iserlohner Kreisanzeiger and Süddeutsche Zeitung, from 2002 to 2011.
