Welvista
Welvista is a nonprofit organization offering hope and wellness to underserved South Carolinians through two programs, Medication Assistance Program (MAP) and SMILES for a Lifetime. Welvista’s Medication Assistance Program (MAP) is one of the largest charitable pharmacies in the nation, providing free prescriptions to nearly 20,000 low-income, uninsured South Carolinians every year. With more than 200 medications available and mailing directly to patients’ homes, Welvista bridges a tremendous gap to vital health services in our state. Welvista is dedicated to making sure every smile is a healthy one through our school-based children's dental program, Smiles for a Lifetime. Smiles provides preventative and restorative services to children in grades K-12 in rural South Carolina counties at no cost to parents. These dental centers are located on school grounds, run during school hours, and transportation is provided lessening the burden on parents who would miss work to take their children to the dentist. To provide children the highest quality of care, SMILES partners with SC-licensed dentists and hygienists from around the state. Since 2001, we have provided services to over 20,243 children and performed 120,204 restorative services. Give us a follow to keep up to date with how we are working towards a healthier South Carolina!
