Wentworth Woodhouse
With a long and fascinating history, Wentworth Woodhouse is one of the great houses of England. The House has been owned by the Wentworth Woodhouse Preservation Trust since 2017 and is open to the public for guided tours and free-flow visits to the House and Gardens, as well as Afternoon Tea in the Long Gallery and a programme of seasonal events. The Trust are embarking on an ambitious project to repair, preserve and renovate the House, opening up even more spaces to the public. Their ambition is to build a down-to-earth, community-focussed attraction which will boost the local economy and improve lives in South Yorkshire, becoming a world-class visitor attraction with local heritage and culture exhibitions. The total project is estimated to cost around £150 million and take over 25 years to complete.
