Rhys McKavanagh has a diverse work experience starting from 2016 as a Crew Member at McDonald's. From 2018 to 2021, they served as the Chairperson of the University of Salford Conservative Society while also working as a Self-Service Host at Asda from 2018 to 2020. In 2020, they became a Student Course Representative at The University of Salford, representing Third Year Politics students and addressing their concerns during the COVID-19 pandemic. Rhys then worked as an Office Temporary at Jobwise Ltd, specifically at Wigan GP Alliance, handling phone operations and assisting with coronavirus vaccinations. Rhys had a role as a Barista at SSP Group Plc. from 2021 to 2022 before joining Steve Baker MP's office as a Caseworker Intern, where they carried out casework for constituents, assisted in policy responses, and attended meetings with local stakeholders. Currently, Rhys works as a Sales Assistant at Wenzel's the Bakers Ltd. starting in November 2022. Additionally, from 2021 to 2023, they served as the North West Regional Co-ordinator for LGBT+ Conservatives.
Rhys McKavanagh pursued a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and Government from The University of Salford from 2018 to 2021.
