Chris Prior-Willeard

Chris Prior-Willeard is currently an advisor at WeOwn. Chris has over 25 years of experience in the financial services industry, including stints as a CEO, managing director, marketing director, and director of corporate finance.

Prior-Willeard began their career in 1986 at the London Stock Exchange, where they worked in the UK Equities Market. Chris then spent three years as the general manager of corporate trust at Chase Manhattan Corporation before moving to HSBC in 1995 to head up the bank's depositary receipts division.

In 2004, Prior-Willeard joined Computershare Investor Services as global capital markets product manager. Chris was responsible for product management of Computershare's cross-border services and spent two years in this role before moving on to BNY Mellon in 2006.

At BNY Mellon, Prior-Willeard served as CEO of the Central Securities Depository, responsible for the Belgian CSD. Chris also served on the leadership committee of the Depositary Receipts Division. Prior-Willeard left BNY Mellon in 2015 and spent the next year as managing director at Thomas Murray, providing consulting and advice to European banks, exchanges, collateral managers, and governmental bodies.

In 2016, Prior-Willeard returned to Capclear, a previous employer, as marketing director. Chris held this position for just over a year before joining WeOwn as an advisor in 2017.

Chris Prior-Willeard has a degree in Nautical Studies from the University of Southampton (Warsash), and an MBA in E-Commerce from the London Business School. Chris also has a Series Seven license from NASD. Chris is a GMInstM in Meat Technology from Smithfield College, and is currently a Soft Skills Coach with the Coverdale Organisation.
