Barry Ruan

Barry Ruan has a diverse work experience spanning several companies and roles. Barry is currently employed at WePay as a Senior Software Engineer, starting in November 2022. Before that, they worked at Robinhood as a Software Engineer II - Backend from November 2021 to November 2022. Prior to Robinhood, Barry was at Vicarious, where they held the positions of Software Engineer II from April 2021 to November 2021, and Software Engineer I from November 2019 to April 2021. Earlier in their career, they served as a Research Assistant at the University of Michigan from May 2019 to November 2019. Additionally, Barry worked as a Research Assistant at Shanghai Jiao Tong University from May 2018 to September 2018, focusing on applying LSTM-RNN on flow field pattern prediction in vehicle engines under the guidance of Prof. David Hung.

Barry Ruan has a strong educational background in computer science and electrical and computer engineering. Barry obtained their Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from the University of Michigan, where they studied from 2017 to 2019. Prior to that, they attended Shanghai Jiao Tong University from 2015 to 2017, where they earned a degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering. In addition to their formal education, Barry has also obtained a certification in Machine Learning System Design from Educative, Inc. in August 2022.
