Joanne Borsella

Joanne Borsella has over 27 years of work experience in the payments, retail, and financial services industries. Joanne is currently working as the Payment Acceptance Lead at WePay since December 2020. Prior to this, they were the Canadian Marketplace Product Lead at Elavon, Inc. from 2015 to October 2020.

Joanne also has experience as the owner of J. Borsella Consulting from 2012 to April 2015, where they provided consulting services to merchants and organizations in areas such as integrated merchant solutions and payment innovations. Joanne worked closely with merchants to successfully implement new payment initiatives on time and within budget.

Before starting their consulting business, Joanne worked as a Senior Advisor at Payments Advisors Inc. from 2013 to 2015. Joanne also held various roles at TD Bank from 2003 to 2012, including Sr. Product Manager, Director of Client Integrations, and Product Manager in the TD Loyalty & Gift Card department.

Early in their career, Joanne worked at MGV/Systech as the Manager of Development and QA from 1993 to 2003.

Joanne Borsella has a diverse education history. From 2014 to 2016, they attended Humber College and obtained a Project Management Certificate (Honours) with a focus on Project Management. Prior to that, from 1981 to 1984, they studied Computer Programming & Analysis at Seneca College. In addition to their formal education, they have also received additional certifications in the field of leadership and personal development. In October 2020, they completed the "Humble Leadership: The Power of Relationships, Openness, and Trust" course offered by LinkedIn. Joanne also obtained the "The Six Morning Habits of High Performers" certification from LinkedIn during the same month and year.
