Arjan de Groene

Arjan De Groene serves as the Caribbean seascape coordinator for WWF Netherlands since December 2016, overseeing programs within the Caribbean region. Prior to this role, Arjan held the position of General Manager at Green Islands Foundation from November 2013 to November 2016, managing an environmental NGO focused on integrating sustainable development within the private sector. Arjan's experience also includes working as a Tropical Marine Researcher with the Seychelles Island Foundation, contributing to a Reef Mapping Project at Aldabra Atoll, and serving as a Medical Device Vigilance Consultant at Zwiers Regulatory Consultancy BV. Arjan's earlier career involved positions in pharmacovigilance and quality control within the pharmaceutical and semiconductor industries, alongside academic roles at Radboud University Nijmegen where marine ecology research and teaching were key responsibilities. Arjan holds both a BSc and MSc in Biology, specializing in marine ecology from Radboud University Nijmegen.
