Zaida Harneker

Zaida Harneker currently serves as General Counsel and Head of Risk and Compliance at Werksmans Attorneys since February 2023. Prior to this role, Zaida held various positions at Standard Bank Group, including Regulatory Risk Compliance Manager and Financial Crime Compliance Manager for Investment Banking from October 2016 to February 2023. Additional experience includes serving as Senior Legal, Compliance & Company Secretarial Manager and Legal Advisor at Business Partners (August 2009 - October 2016), as well as working as a Candidate Attorney at De Klerk & Van Gend Inc (February 2007 - May 2009). Zaida's educational background includes obtaining a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from the University of the Western Cape and several advanced degrees and certificates in compliance, commercial law, risk management, and data privacy from reputable institutions.
