Michael Suggitt has extensive experience in environmental health and safety management. Michael started their career as an Environmental Assistant at General Electric (GE) in 1996. Michael then worked at 2R Services Inc as a Leader for Lab-Pack Processing in 1998 before joining Burlington Technologies Inc in 1999 as a Health, Safety and Environmental Manager. At Burlington Technologies Inc, they focused on systems development, standardization, risk management strategy, injury reduction, and training, achieving significant reductions in lost time and medical aid injuries. In 2010, they joined Wescast Industries Inc as the Director of Health, Safety, and Environmental, where they had a major focus on legal compliance, risk management, injury reduction, standard development, and training across multiple locations. Finally, in 2018, they became the Environmental Health & Safety Manager at Canadian General Tower Ltd., where they managed environmental health and safety compliance for a coated fabrics and films producer, including accident prevention, workplace hazard control, and regulatory compliance.
Michael Suggitt completed their education at Conestoga College, where they studied Occupational Health and Safety. Michael graduated in 2009. Before attending Conestoga College, they also studied Environmental Engineering Technologies at Georgian College, where they completed their degree in 1998.
