Shelley Ballet

SVP, Marketing & Sales at Wesley Enhanced Living

Known for non-traditional marketing approaches that successfully generate visibility and revenue for the organizations she serves, Ballet introduced the enhanced living concept to Evangelical Services for the Aging in 2004–determined to implement a solid stream of branding initiatives to help transform the organization’s network of continuing care retirement communities into enhanced living communities.

Among her many accomplishments, Ballet worked to rename the century-old organization to Wesley Enhanced Living, creating a repositioning strategy that re-imagined the way organizations and individuals view today’s senior population. Under her leadership, WEL’s independent living, personal care, and skilled nursing occupancy has remained at near capacity levels, with significant entrance fee growth since she joined the organization. Ballet has also succeeded in driving the creation of compelling print, direct mail, broadcast, digital and PR campaigns to communicate and support the WEL brand.

Prior to her position with Wesley Enhanced Living, Ballet served as director of marketing for Innovatix, LLC, subsidiary of the Greater New York Hospital Association. In this role, she created sales and marketing campaigns to drive sales within the home infusion, oncology and long term care pharmaceutical segments. As director of network marketing for North Shore-LIJ Health System, a $3 billion hospital and ambulatory care system, she created branding and direct response campaigns to increase awareness and referrals into the 18-hospital system. She has also held senior marketing and PR positions in the educational services divisions of the Washington Post Company, and MacMillan, Inc.

Ballet holds an M.B.A. degree in marketing from The City University of New York-Baruch College and a B.A. degree in psychology from Hofstra University.
