Tim Sussman

Lead Researcher Suicide Prevention at Wesley Mission

Tim Sussman has a diverse work experience in various organizations. Tim started their career as a Consultant at NSW Transport in 2010. Later, they worked as the NSW SMHSOP Benchmarking and Evaluation Officer at Informatics Mental Health (InforMH), NSW Mental Health Drug and Alcohol Office from 2007 to 2010. Tim then became a Project Officer for the BPSD Handbook at the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists from 2011 to 2012. Following that, Tim worked as a Research Coordinator at the Council on the Ageing NSW from 2012 to 2013, and as a Senior Data Analyst at the Mental Health Commission of New South Wales from 2013 to 2015. Tim then worked as a Data Manager Contractor at Justice Health NSW from 2015 to 2016, where they were responsible for extraction analysis, reporting of health and business process information, business analyses, and service evaluation. Tim'smost recent role is as the Lead Researcher for Suicide Prevention at Wesley Mission since 2017.

Tim Sussman holds a Master of Environmental Studies degree with a focus on Social Assessment, Program Evaluation, and Research Planning from UNSW, which they obtained between 1993 and 1995. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor's Degree in Social Work with a specialty in Community development and local social planning from UNSW, completing it in the years 1979 to 1983. Earlier in their academic journey, Tim attained a Bachelor's Degree in Science with a concentration in Pure Mathematics from the University of Sydney, which they completed between 1975 and 1977.
