Daniel Young

Principal Geoarchaeologist at Wessex Archaeology

Daniel Young has extensive work experience in the field of archaeology. Daniel is currently employed as a Principal Geoarchaeologist at Wessex Archaeology, a position they have held since April 2021. Prior to this, they worked as a Senior Project Manager at Quaternary Scientific, University of Reading from June 2018 to April 2021. Before that, they worked as a Project Manager at Quaternary Scientific from August 2008 to April 2021. Their early experience includes a role as an Environmental Archaeologist at ArchaeoScape from September 2007 to July 2008.

Daniel Young earned a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Climate change and human societies from the University of Reading, which they attended from 2010 to 2016. Prior to that, they obtained a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Quaternary Science from Royal Holloway, University of London, from 2006 to 2007. Their undergraduate education took place at Royal Holloway, where they earned a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Geography with Environmental Archaeology from 2003 to 2006.
