Tim Marples

Tim Marples possesses extensive experience in geophysical operations, currently serving as the Manager of Marine Geophysics at Wessex Archaeology since October 2019. Previously, Tim held various senior roles at Sound Energy plc, including Director of HSSE and Manager of Geophysical Operations, overseeing operational exposures in Morocco and globally. A significant part of Tim's career was spent at BG Group, where multiple managerial positions were held in geophysical operations, including overseeing worldwide onshore and offshore geophysical programs and serving as Operations Geophysicist. Additional experience includes managing legacy geophysical projects for Shell and a secondment to QGC in Australia. Tim began the professional journey at Schlumberger WesternGeco as an Area Geophysicist and has a foundational background in field operations acquired through early roles at Western Geophysical and SEISMOGRAPH SERVICE LIMITED. Tim holds an MBA from The Open University and a BSc in Physics with Geophysics from the University of Liverpool.
