Richard O'Connell serves as the General Manager of Community & Game Development at the West Coast Eagles, a leading Australian Football League club, since December 2016. Prior to this role, Richard O'Connell held various positions at BHP Billiton from 2001 to 2016, including Group Manager of Community Development for the BHP Billiton Global Foundation and Head of Community & Indigenous Affairs. Richard O'Connell's experience also includes advisory roles at the Centre for Social Impact and the Western Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, as well as a part-time lecturer position at Curtin University. Richard O'Connell holds a Master of Business Administration from Monash University and a Bachelor of Secondary Education from Curtin University, along with additional educational experiences at prestigious institutions such as London Business School and The University of British Columbia.

West Coast Eagles
The West Coast Eagles Football Club formed in August, 1986, playing its first official match for premiership points against Richmond in 1987. Our women's side played its first game for AFLW premiership points in February 2020 against Collingwood. Since then, the club has enjoyed significant success , winning premierships in 1992, 1994, 2006 and 2018. Based at Mineral Resources Park in Lathlain, West Coast boasts a proud tradition of success on and off the field which can be attributed to its many loyal members and corporate partners.
