Lauren Crooks

Lauren Crooks possesses extensive experience in strategic communications and journalism, currently serving as the Strategic Communications, Culture and Performance Manager at West Dunbartonshire Council since June 2018. Prior to this role, Lauren held various positions within the council, including Communications Team Leader and Communications Officer. Freelance journalism work was completed from April to July 2018, alongside a significant tenure at Scottish Daily Record and Sunday Mail Ltd from September 2010 to April 2018, where Lauren served as Assistant News Editor and News Reporter. Additional freelance writing and reporting experience includes contributions to notable publications such as the Daily Record, Scottish Sun, and Scottish Daily Mail. Lauren began a journalism career as News Editor/Reporter at Deadline News from April 2007 to July 2009, after receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Language and Literature from the University of Strathclyde and completing NCTJ training in Newspaper Journalism.
