Shawn Opitz

Shawn Opitz is a seasoned Wildlife Biologist and Field Coordinator at WEST, Inc. since July 2017, with prior roles including Eagle Observation Biologist at PeopleReady, and Data/GIS Technician at WEST, Inc. Shawn's experience extends to diverse wildlife research, including serving as Crew Lead and Wildlife Technician at the Wyoming Cooperative Fish and Wildlife Research Unit. Key contributions include avian and reptile surveys and tracking mule deer for behavior studies. Additional experience encompasses fisheries work, small mammal trapping, and biological science roles with the US Fish and Wildlife Service and during the BP Deepwater Horizon incident. Shawn Opitz holds a degree in Wildlife and Fisheries Biology and Management from the University of Wyoming.
