Richard Wieringa

Richard Wieringa has over 25 years of experience in commercial banking, primarily working with small businesses. Richard started their career at Macatawa Bank in 1998, where they oversaw the creation and development of the bank's Commercial Loan area. During their time there, the bank grew significantly, reaching 27 lenders and a loan portfolio of over $1.5 billion in commercial loan assets. In 2010, Wieringa founded Richard D. Wieringa LLC, a project-based consulting firm that provides various professional services to small businesses. The firm offers services such as debt consulting, acquisition financing, credit arrangements, business disposition, budgeting/long-range planning, and financial review. Since 2011, Wieringa has also been working as Sr. Vice President at West Michigan Community Bank.

Richard Wieringa completed their Bachelor of Arts degree in Finance at Michigan State University from 1980 to 1982. Richard then pursued an MBA in General Business at the University of Michigan - Stephen M. Ross School of Business from 1984 to 1986. Additionally, they attended the University of Colorado Boulder to study Banking at the Graduate School of Banking, although the specific time frame is not provided.
