Matthew Fitzmaurice has a diverse work experience spanning several companies and roles. Matthew started their career in 2009 as a Radiation Safety Officer Shadow at Children's Mercy Hospital before moving on to become a Fluid Mechanics Grader at Kansas State University in 2009-2010. Matthew then joined Texas A&M University in 2010 and held various roles such as Graduate Nonteaching Assistant, Graduate Research Assistant, Group Fitness Instructor, and Graduate and Professional Student Council President. In 2015, Matthew joined West Physics as a Medical Physicist and worked their way up to Senior Medical Physicist and eventually Chief Medical Physicist, the position they currently hold.

Matthew Fitzmaurice began their education at Kansas State University in 2006, where they pursued a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Mechanical & Nuclear Engineering. Matthew completed their undergraduate studies in 2010.

Following their bachelor's degree, Matthew Fitzmaurice enrolled at Texas A&M University in 2010 and obtained a Master of Science (MS) degree in Nuclear Engineering & Health Physics in 2012.

Continuing their educational journey, they stayed at Texas A&M University and completed their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Nuclear Engineering in 2015.

During their career, Matthew Fitzmaurice also obtained several certifications. In 2018, they achieved the Nuclear Medicine Physics & Instrumentation (DABSNM) certification from the American Board of Science in Nuclear Medicine. In 2019, they obtained both the Diagnostic Medical Physicist (DABR) certification from the American Board of Radiology and the Certified Health Physicist (CHP) certification from the American Board of Health Physics.
