West Place Animal Sanctuary

West Place Animal Sanctuary is Rhode Island’s largest home to rescued farm animals and wildlife. Uniquely situated on an eight-acre historic farm property, West Place provides housing, food, and medical care for injured and orphaned farm animals, waterfowl, and game birds. It also provides a soft landing spot for local lost dogs waiting to be reunited with family members. Nearly 100 animals - more than 15 different species - call West Place “home.” The Sanctuary staff rescues farm animals from neglect, abuse and cruelty cases and rehabilitates them. The wildlife that grace the property ranges from injured adults to orphaned babies that are being taught how to be “wild.” When visiting the property, you will meet a nimble and dedicated staff, committed group of volunteers and students working to make a difference in the lives of animals.
